Spencerian Class
I am currently taking a Spencerian Penmanship class. Here is one of my practice sheets. Pretty soon I will be able to offer you this lovely, elegant, timeless style of lettering for your unique occasion or custom lettering order.

Having Fun With Tiles
Today I had fun with these bathroom tiles I bought. A while back I had taken a class at Jerry's Artarama using alcohol inks and Stampbord Tiles. I thought I would see if these inks worked on these bathroom tiles.
This process was so much fun! You never really know what will come out when you start combining the inks with the alcohol, or if you want to drip or sponge them on, etc.
With this tile, I first wiped the surface of the tile with alcohol. Then I dropped one drop of a colored ink onto the surface. Before it had a chance to dry, I blew through a straw over the ink and pushed it around. I continued in this fashion, sometimes dropping a color near another one, or on top of it, or near it.
Last, I added a little touch with a stamp and pale ink.
Note Taking
There are so many different ways to do a journal. Since I listen to Sunday teachings and find my mind sometimes wandering, I came up with the idea of note taking through art. Instead of taking notes with pen and paper, jotting down verses, writing down all of the salient points, why not just capture the highlights with lettering and art?
What a difference this has made in my ability to stick with the topics! And if I had taken notes on a piece of paper, I would, in all likelihood, never look at those pages again. But, since I love art and love lettering, I find myself continuing to look at what I've done. And as a result, I remember the teachings.
So, if you are stuck in a meeting having to take notes......
