I took a workshop from a woman who lives here in North Carolina, Catherine Langsdorf. She does a lot of wedding calligraphy, and right now, chalkboards are "in." She has managed to design huge boards for weddings. So, I talked her into coming to Raleigh and teaching my calligraphy guild. This is what I did in that workshop. She gave us helpful hints as to how to lay out a design on a huge piece and have it look like your rough 8x10 sketch. I obviously put this one out last Thanksgiving.
"Let our Lives" is Copperplate. "And" is a take on Spencerian. "Giving" is both Italic with Foundational-like "g"s.
I used regular chalk.
